Berlin is the capital city and a state of Germany. It is the country's largest city in area and population, and the second most populous city in the European Union. Berlin has a temperate/mesothermal climate. The warmest months are June, July, and August. Before 1990 the city used to be divided into Western and Eastern Berlin by the famous Berlin Wall.
